Clergy Team

Our Clergy Team

There are four members of the clergy team in the Team Ministry who are supported by a PA.

Although the clergy focus their time in particular churches they also work across the Team as a whole. Find out a bit more about us on this page.

We are available to contact by email by clicking on the pictures below.

Revd Martin StephensPicture of Martin Stephens

Martin has been Team Rector since moving to Macclesfield in September 2016.  He is mainly responsible for St Michael’s and St Peter’s, and is delighted to share this joy and privilege with many gifted and committed people. All his ordained life has been in one team or another, and he loves the benefits and challenges of working with others to help people experience and respond to the love of God. Martin is married to Catherine, they have 3 adult daughters and one son-in-law. Martin enjoys ‘pottering’, gardening, cinema and radio comedy.

Revd Andy WilliamsPicture of Andy Williams

Andy is the Team Vicar and is mainly responsible for the churches of All Saints' and St Barnabas'. He joined the Team in March 2018 and, along with his wife Louise, loves living in Macclesfield and being part of the Team. Andy's interests include: railways - full size steam and model; photography; electric cars (he owns a Renault Zoe); and all things Apple! Andy loves sharing about the life giving faith he's found in Jesus.

Revd Karen BradyPicture of Karen Brady

Karen is the Curate for the Team, her prime focus is on St Michael’s although she does work across the Team.  Karen moved to Macclesfield to start her curacy after being ordained in July 2017.  Her previous careers have included engineering, university administration and management.  Her hobbies (when time allows) are gardening, photography and learning new crafts. Karen enjoys journeying with people and supporting them as they discover (or perhaps re-discover) and deepen their faith. She also enjoys sharing the experiences of her own ongoing journey.

Sue ReidPicture of Sue Reid

Sue is the PA for the clergy and works in our Team Office which is based at St Michael's Church. She is the fount of all knowledge and helps the clergy be more available to serve people. Sue has two teenage daughters who keep her on her toes as well as keep her young in spirit. She loves walking her two gorgeous Cockapoos in the hills around Macclesfield and Derbyshire with Tegg’s Nose being a particular favourite spot. Her other happy place is on a sandy beach in Devon or on the River Dart, usually with a glass in hand watching the sunset! Sue is a member of St Michael’s Church and she loves the diversity of people at St Mike’s, both young and old.  A warm friendly smile will always await you in the Church Office, where she has now worked since 2009.
